Ganesha Yoga Shala

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Train in the birthplace of yoga itself — a complete, internationally certified path to becoming a confident, qualified yoga teacher.

🇮🇳 3 weeks On the Banks of the Ganges → Yoga Capital of the World.

YOGA ALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL

A training for those drawn to history,
nature and river light.

-Start as a student. End as a teacher, or just someone who knows their practice better.

Our 200-hour program is the full Yoga Alliance International curriculum, delivered where it was first formalized — on the banks of the sacred Ganges, in the town that has drawn yogis and seekers for centuries. Three weeks gives you the time a 100-hour course can’t enough  repetition to actually absorb sequencing, enough supervised practice teaching to find your voice in front of a room, and enough study to move from “I understand this” to “I can explain this to someone else.”

Days follow traditional ashram rhythms — early rises, disciplined daily practice, evenings in satsang or by the river. This isn’t a curriculum built elsewhere and brought here; it’s taught inside the tradition that produced it, by teachers trained in that same lineage.

Certification is RYS 200 through Yoga Alliance International, recognised worldwide — the credential most studios and Yoga Alliance–affiliated schools expect from a lead teacher.

Why India ? Why Rishikesh ?

The Yoga Capital

Rishikesh has drawn teachers and seekers for generations — the town most schools trace their lineage back to.

  • A Three-Week Immersion, Not a Visit

Most travelers pass through Rishikesh in days. You'll have three weeks to actually live here — long enough for the town, the river, and the routine to stop feeling new.

  • Real Teaching Practice, Not Just Theory

Multiple rounds of supervised practicum in front of real students, so certification means you've actually taught, not just studied how to

  • A Community That Forms Over Weeks, Not Days

Twenty-one days with the same 15 people builds something a weekend course can't — most graduates leave with people, not just a certificate.

  • A Sunrise Ritual in the Ganges

Bathing in the river considered yoga's living source, at the hour pilgrims have chosen for it for centuries — not squeezed in as a sightseeing stop.

  • Space to Breathe

Quiet hours by the river, built into every day, so the training has time to sink in.

A Day in India

A Typical Day at Our Yoga Teacher Training

A balanced rhythm of practice, study, self-reflection and rest designed to support your personal transformation.

Rest days and excursions replace this rhythm once a week

Once a week, this rhythm might be set aside for sound healing session and trataka meditation.

Why Train With Us

A Certification That Travels With You

Our RYT 200 meets Yoga Alliance International standards, so wherever you end up teaching — a studio, a retreat, your own classes — the credential holds up.

Built to Make You a Teacher, Not Just a Practitioner

Postures are only part of it. You'll leave with real grounding in philosophy, anatomy, breathwork, and the actual skill of leading a room.

Small Enough to Actually Be Seen

Capped at 15 students, with direct feedback and mentorship throughout — not a lecture hall you disappear into.

Rishikesh Itself Does Some of the Teaching

Training on the banks of the Ganges, in the town yoga radiates outward from, shapes the experience as much as the curriculum does.

My partner and I were most fortunate and privileged to have Prashant and Estella as our yoga teachers on a yoga retreat at Welikande Estate in Sri Lanka. We really enjoyed every class they taught, they were both highly experienced and knowledgeable as well as helpful in assisting us with our practice and postures. We particularly enjoyed a yoga immersion day where we learnt yoga philosophy and how to correctly practice Asanas. I highly recommend both Prashant and Estella as Yoga teachers, their classes were an absolute highlight of our Yoga retreat and trip to Sri Lanka.

I was incredibly fortunate to practice with both Prashant and Estella who were the resident yoga instructors whilst I was staying at Welikande Yoga Retreats near Kandy in Sri Lanka. Both Prashant & Estella have a nurturing, encouraging and instinctive teaching style. Their calm voices and clear direction meant you were never unsure of the journey they take you on in either the more dynamic morning practice or the restorative yin evening practice. I always felt very well looked after in each practice and this was enhanced by hands on adjustments and checking in with me when adjustments weee being offered. A true delight to be guided by them!

I had the pleasure of joining yoga classes with Prashant & Estella for two weeks during a homestay in Vietnam, sometimes even twice a day! After just a few sessions, I noticed a big difference in my stiff knee and hip, and now I’ve actually made yoga a daily habit. They’re such a great duo with there knowledgeable and patient! A huge thanks to both of you for your guidance and inspiration✨

I did my 200 hours yoga teacher training with Estelle and Prashant in Cambodia. They are great teachers, very knowledgable yet humble and very encouraging and understanding. They see your potential and push you to go one step further without overstepping your limits. Whether you are getting certified through them or doing your daily practice you are in good hands 🙏🏼

When i was staying at Nguyen Shack in Vietnam 🇻🇳, i enjoyed 3 classes with Prashant! In the beautiful scenery of the lake and the Mountains we practiced breathwork and asanas. I was amazed that I could do wheelpose with his assistance in the first class as i had never done it before. Prashant’s teaching made me push my physical boundaries in a really safe and gentle way. I hope i get to practice with you again in the future. You are a great teacher!
